Summary of Outreach
To reach out to and educate Childcare Provider in Washington, D.C. about the risks of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in the African American Community.
Program Design
To describe what SIDS is and what SIDS is not To identify ways to reduce the risks of SIDS For Childcare Provider to be knowledgeable of statistics and resources in Washington D.C. and nationally. To encourage Childcare Provider to implement written policy on infant sleep position in Their center / home. For CCP to recognize coping strategies concerning SIDS and other infant death.

Outcomes and Evaluation
To have CCP agree that "Back Sleep" is safest for infant’s 1 month to 1 year. For CCP to comply with no soft bedding (comforters, blankets etc.), and no smoking around infants. For CCP to educate parents about SIDS and their written policy to sleep infants on the back because of the risks of SIDS.
